Iran missiles 'fired towards UK military bases in Cyprus'
Defence Secretary John Healey stated that UK assets in the Middle East are at risk from Iranian retaliation, noting two missiles were fired towards Cyprus, near British military bases.
He revealed that 300 UK military personnel in Bahrain were close to other Iranian missile strikes, emphasising the indiscriminate nature of Iran's actions.
Healey called on Iran to cease its missile strikes and abandon its weapons programmes, following preemptive US and Israeli attacks on Iranian military infrastructure and leadership.
He condemned Iran's regime, citing its history of terror plots against the UK, internal repression, and supplying drones to Russia, expressing concern about regional repercussions.
Healey declined to comment on the legality of the US-Israeli strikes, stating it was for the US to explain, but confirmed that all UK defensive operations in the region comply with international law.
